“Explore all” with three app suggestions is followed by a “See More” button. You get the app’s name, icon, and rating. “Recommended for you” and “Now trending” are followed by large cards for “Watch faces,” “Music streaming,” “Essential watch apps,” and “Healthy mind & body.”.

The last section is a prompt to “browse and install apps from your other devices,” meaning phone , with the option to open the Play Store on that device. “Manage apps” and “Settings” round out the page.

In contrast, the current design is too heavy and boring. Pushing apps directly into the main feed could encourage users to download more things for their wearables and further stimulate developer interest. The latest sign is that wearable design has solidified around displaying most of the content in one view rather than plunging users into different menus.

The current report of this redesign rolling out is in Google Play version 31.2.10-26 for Wear OS. However, the update is being released via a server and has not yet appeared for most users.
