A few weeks ago, some iPad production was halted due to the worst heat wave China has faced in 60 years. Foxconn's factory in the southwestern province of Sichuan had to close due to the higher temperatures. Now, with the heat wave subsiding, Foxconn is back to normal capacity.

The report comes from Nikkei Asia and says that Foxconn "has restarted factory operations in Sichuan province after a local shutdown expired on Thursday in a historic heat wave," meaning iPad production is returning to normal.

Foxconn's Chengdu factory , which assembles iPads for Apple , began operating at normal capacity again on Thursday, a person close to the plant confirmed . Authorities appear to be giving Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai Precision Industry, priority power, given the economic impact on the region .

At the time the local government shut down the Foxconn factory, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote that “if the power outage issue ends on August 20, the impact will be limited.” While it lasted seven days longer than expected, it’s unclear how it affected iPad production in the long term.
