If you're looking for a laptop with plenty of power, then the Dell XPS 17 is the one for you. This laptop is the best out there. Of course, there are other laptops that might suit you, but if you want to do creative work on a big screen, this is the best.

Starting with the display, it's the best in its class. It's big and beautiful, with a resolution of 3,840×2,400 and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It's 17 inches in size, so if you're looking for a large screen, this is what you're looking for.
According to testing, it supports 100% sRGB, 99% NTSC, 100% Adobe RGB, and 98% P3. Unlike the XPS 15, the Dell XPS 17 doesn't come with an OLED. The reason is that there aren't any 17-inch OLED panels available at the moment.
The maximum brightness reached 542.8 nits, which exceeds the 500 nits that Dell had promised.
As you'd expect, the webcam is still on the top bezel, with a resolution of 720p. It also comes with an IR camera, so it supports facial recognition if the fingerprint sensor isn't for you.
The Dell XPS 17 9720 comes with processors and thanks to that, it supports DDR5 memory, which is 4,800 MHz on this model. Even the GPU options remain the same and this unit comes with an RTX 3060.
The CPU is a Core i7-12700H, which features Intel's new hybrid architecture. It actually has a total of 14 cores, with six performance cores, or P-cores, and eight efficiency cores, or E-cores.
The new Dell XPS 15 and XPS 17 were among the first XPS laptops announced this year, so now, they're available for purchase. The Dell XPS 17 starts at $1,749, but only comes with a Core i5-12500H, 8GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, an FHD+ display, and integrated graphics.
It comes in Platinum Silver with a black carbon fiber palm rest. It's the classic Dell XPS design, and since the XPS 17 is the most specialized of the company's top laptops, we haven't seen additional colors like we did on the XPS 13 2-in-1, XPS 13, and XPS 15.

When the Dell XPS 17 9700 was introduced, it was the first 17-inch XPS laptop of the decade. The XPS 17 9720 is the third version of this product, and the design hasn't changed. It comes in a classic XPS design, with a Platinum silver exterior and a black carbon fiber palm rest.
The lid sports a shiny Dell logo, and the sides are silver. While most 17-inch laptops come with a ton of ports, Dell has followed Apple 's lead by going all-in on USB Type-C . It has four Thunderbolt 4 ports , two on each side. You can use them for 40Gbps data transfers, connecting 8K displays, and more. As far as USB ports go, it's the best you can get.
On the right side, there is also a 3.5mm audio jack and a full-size SD card reader.
This model weighs 5.34 kg. It is a powerful laptop with a 97 WHr battery. Plus, it is small enough to fit in a regular-sized bag, thanks to the tiny bezels around the display.
There are things to consider when buying a large laptop because they are for different use cases. It is aimed at creators who might use it solely for graphics, so it should include photo and/or video editing or something similar.
Since this is such a large laptop, it has a nice and spacious keyboard. It has the same Chiclet-style keyboard that you'll find on the XPS 15.
It's backlit, accurate, and has a fingerprint sensor on the power button, which is located on the top right of the keyboard.
The keyboard is flanked by speakers, and the XPS 17 includes two 2.5W woofers and two 1.5W tweeters, for powerful, high-quality sound.
Although it is a very good device, the Dell XPS 17 9720 is definitely not for everyone.

If you want a large, high-quality display, power in a 17-inch laptop, with 45W processors and dedicated graphics, and you focus on creative work, such as photo and video editing, then this is the right computer for you.
But if you need a computer for productivity rather than creative work, mainly gaming, or you need a high-quality webcam, then there are other devices that are better suited to you.
