It's been a long time since Apple presented officially the digital car key feature, also known as CarKey. With this, some iPhone and Apple Watch owners can store their car key digitally in the app Wallet. Apple is now preparing to offer the support for digital car keys (CarKey feature) in Hyundai and BYD. The new feature will allow owners of certain models to lock, unlock and start their cars using a pass stored in the Wallet app in the iPhone or the Apple Watch.

Η BMW was the first manufacturer to release digital car keys on Wallet in 2020. In March, Apple has started listing several Genesis and Kia models on the list of vehicles that will support digital keys. In recent days, the company has added listings for both Hyundai and BYD Vehicles in the Apple Pay configuration file. A similar change last September revealed the imminent addition of support for Genesis vehicles.
