YouTube's popular Vanced app is shutting down after facing a legal threat from Google. The creators of YouTube Vanced reveal that their project will be shut down in the coming days and download links will no longer be available to the public. The app will, however, continue to work for anyone who has the app installed on Android device . However, software updates are being discontinued, so at some point the Android version will also stop working. The owners of Vanced say they were forced to shut down their project for legal reasons.
Google recently sent a cease and desist letter to the owners of YouTube Vanced, forcing the developers to stop developing and distributing the app. Specifically, according to an administrator from the Vanced team, they were asked to remove all references to YouTube, change the logo, and delete all links related to YouTube products. The announcement of the app's removal was posted on the YouTube Vanced account on Twitter.

Vanced is a very popular third-party YouTube app for Android. It offers a lot of positives by allowing YouTube users to block all ads on YouTube videos without a Premium subscription. It also includes a true dark theme and various other customizations that are not included in the official YouTube app.
YouTube Vanced is one of the latest victims of Google’s crackdown on apps . Google-owned YouTube was forced to shut down two popular Discord music bots last year, before it began testing the operation of the ad-supported YouTube integration within Discord a few weeks later. Popular music bots, Rythm and Groovy, also avoided ads by allowing Discord users to listen to music together.
