WhatsApp has been working on a new feature similar to iMessage Reactions for a while now. While the new feature is not yet available to beta testers, the company seems to be planning a simultaneous release of the feature, as it appears that WhatsApp is also preparing Reactions for the Mac version.

As spotted by WABetaInfo, reactions are coming to the Mac version of WhatsApp. While there has been no news about the feature so far, a screenshot has been posted that you can see below showing how the feature will work.
You'll be able to react to a message by choosing from six different emojis. WABetaInfo reports that the reaction button won't always be visible, as the user will have to hover over a conversation or group message for it to appear. Finally, when the user taps the reaction button, they'll be able to react to a message.

The post says that this feature is still under development, which means it is not available to beta testers, although it probably won't be long until users can try this feature out.
As previously reported by WABetaInfo, users will be able to "react to a specific message once, and reactions are limited to six emoji. For now, the available options are "Like," "Love," "Laugh," "Suprised," "Sad," and "Thanks." It's unclear at this time whether WhatsApp will make any emoji available as a reaction, like Facebook now does with Instagram, or whether the options will be more limited.

Users in a group chat will be able to click on the image to see those who reacted to a message.
