A Spotify code is a machine-readable code in an image. It looks a lot like a QR code. You can't read this code, but the Spotify app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone can.

When a user scans this code with their phone, Spotify takes them to the item it was created for.

You can generate codes for songs, albums, artists, playlists, podcasts, and even your Spotify profile. Both free and premium users can generate such codes.

To generate a code on Spotify, use the Spotify app on your Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android device. You can also use the web version of Spotify if you prefer.

To start creating code for a Spotify asset, launch the Spotify app on your Windows or Mac.

Click the three dots next to Spotify and select Share > Copy Spotify URI. If you don't see the option, hold down the Alt on Windows or the Option on Mac while hovering over the menu.

Open a web browser on your computer and go to the Spotify Codes website. On the website, right-click in the “Spotify URI” box and select “Paste.” Then, below the text field, click “Get Spotify code.”

A “ Create Spotify code ” window will appear . In this window, customize the appearance of your code with the available options:

Background color: Use this to choose the color for your code.

Line Color: Choose a color for the Spotify line with this option.

Size: Enter the size for your code in pixels here.

Format: Choose “ SVG ”, “ PNG ” or “ JPEG ” file format for your code.

The code image you see in the “Create Spotify code” window reflects your changes in real time. If this code looks good to you, then at the bottom, click “Download” to save it.
