Cyberpunk 2077 was updated behind-the-scenes for the first time in months. Although we are not very sure what is going to follow, we know that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive more content and more free updates during 2022. CD Projekt Red has been surprisingly quiet about this in recent months, but thanks to SteamDB, it is clear that something will happen soon.

As noted by Redditor AssCrack_42069 in the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit, SteamDB has logged a new non-public update for Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam. According to the database, a new update was added to Cyberpunk on January 14, just a few days ago.

Because the update is not public, it is clear that CD Projekt Red is simply testing the content it is working on, but it is worth noting that it is the first update that comes to the game since October 28. This update was another non‑public one, so it is not clear what kind of content you added, but it is interesting that there was such a large gap between the most recent update and the previous update.
Aside from non-public updates, the last update listed for Cyberpunk 2077 was on September 14th. This was patch 1.31 and is the last official update that CD Projekt Red has released for Cyberpunk, which lends some credence to the appearance of many non-public updates in recent months.

It is also worth noting that CD Projekt Red recently changed the strategic roadmap for Cyberpunk 2077 content, shifting the free updates and current game releases to an ambiguous “Early 2022”. Taking into account that we are now in the early stages of 2022 and that the update was originally scheduled for the end of last year, it is likely that this latest non-public update is testing content for the upcoming release.
