Microsoft has just released a hotfix to fix a bug in the latest Windows 10 update that caused frame rate issues for PC gamers.

The issues stemmed from the cumulative update released for Windows 10, with users reporting lower than expected frame rates and stuttering in games. Some users fixed the issues by rolling back the updates to older versions.
However, Microsoft has begun to address the issue, noting the following: “A small subset of users reported lower-than-expected performance in games after installing update KB5000842. Most users affected by this issue are running games in full-screen or borderless mode and using two or more monitors.”

“This issue was resolved using Known Issue Rollback (KIR). Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for the analysis to automatically push to consumer devices and unmanaged business devices. Restarting your device may help the analysis to be applied to your device faster,” Microsoft added.
You may need to be patient and wait for the fix to complete on your Windows 10 desktop or laptop. But make sure you have Windows Update enabled and the error will be fixed relatively quickly.

The frame rate error and problems started after the two recent Windows 10 security updates. Specifically, they come from the two updates with the numbers KB5001330 and KB5001337.
Take advantage of the opportunity and install the necessary update released by Microsoft to resolve any issues you are facing.
