Ford is partnering with Google , choosing its Cloud services for its digital transformation. As it announced on Monday, it has partnered with Google on a series of initiatives covering AI, machine learning and data analytics. In short, Ford will adopt Google technologies for its digital transformation and new vehicle systems

As part of their six-year partnership, Ford and Lincoln vehicles from 2023 onwards will be powered by Android, with Google apps and services built in. Ford said it will continue to offer its Ford Sync infotainment system until the transition to Google Android takes effect.
Ford and Google are also creating a new collaboration group called Team Upshift, which will focus on developing personalized consumer experiences, such as data-driven ownership offers, new retail shopping options and real-time notifications for drivers about vehicle maintenance recommendations.
The companies will also work to modernize product offerings and improve its manufacturing and supply chain strategy, using Google's AI technology to train workers and inspect assembly lines.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kuriansaid the partnership between Google and Ford is "thefirst of its kind" and "promises to change both Ford and the automotive industry."
"We are working with Ford on many aspects of how Android will integrate with Ford vehicles," Kurian said, noting that driving services are the focus for now.
For its part, Ford highlighted Google's superiority in AI, ML and data analytics technologies , as well as the robustness of the Android operating system , as key factors in the collaboration
“We believe this co-creation team will be truly unique and distinctive in the industry,” said David McClelland, VP of strategy and partnerships for Ford. “It will push the boundaries of our modernization efforts.”
The companies did not disclose further commercial details about the deal.
