Louisiana's Cyber Crime Unit has arrested five men for child pornography. Bayou State Attorney General Jeff Landry announced the arrests, stating the following:
«My team and our partners in law enforcement continue to do the best they can to ensure that the state's children are safe. I am very proud of the work they do daily to bring children who have fallen victim to online crime to justice and I hope they receive the necessary resources to do their job even more effectively during this period of increased online criminal activity.»
As Infosecurity Magazine reports, Jared Wilkinson, who was held in Jail , was the youngest person arrested by the Louisiana Cyber Crime Unit. The 20-year-old was charged with child pornography, with at least 50 minors under the age of 13 being victims .
The second defendant is the 40-year-old Pedro Moreno, who is charged with child pornography, with at least 7 children under 13 years old having become his victims. The arrest of the 40-year-old was the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Louisiana Office of Investigations, the Livingston Sheriff’s Office, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The third defendant is 40-year-old Mostafa Rasheed, who was arrested and charged with 13 counts of child pornography, with his victims being children under the age of 13. Rasheed also faces four counts of animal sexual abuse. Rasheed was booked into the East Baton Parish Jail on November 25 after a notice issued last March by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) sparked an investigation.
NCMEC reported that Facebook user Leon Al-Iraqi had uploaded a video depicting child sexual abuse material. The Louisiana Cyber Crime Unit executed a search warrant for the social media account and discovered several videos containing child rape material and four videos depicting animal sexual abuse. Additionally, WBRZ reported that authorities were able to trace Rasheed's social media account through an IP address .
The fourth defendant is the 53-year-old Gregory Pratt, who was arrested following a case of pornography that involved minors under 13 years old.
The fifth and final defendant is the 61-year-old Charles Howell IV, who was arrested as he is also reported to have possessed child pornography material, with his victims being children under 13 years old.
