Adobe Flash Player was for many years the most popular plugin for playing multimedia content on most websites. Even YouTube used Adobe Flash player as the default plugin for playing videos until 2015.
Although many sites have stopped using Adobe Flash Player, there are still some sites that require it. Here's how to enable Flash in Edge and Chrome.
How do you enable Flash for a specific site in Chrome?
The Flash plugin is already pre-installed in Chrome, so it is not necessary to install it, however you will need to enable it for each website that requires it:
- Open the website you want to allow Flash on.
- Then, click the lock or information icon in front of the website URL
- Click on location.
- Scroll down to find the Flash item under Permissions.
- Finally, to the right of the Flash option, click the downward-pointing arrow and then click Allow.
- Now, refresh the page to make the changes to that website.
Flash is automatically disabled every time you quit Chrome, so you have to re-enable it for each website.
How do you enable Adobe Flash Player in Edge?
Unlike Chrome, you can enable Flash in Microsoft Edge for all websites in general, but also for each one individually:
- In Microsoft Edge, click the three-dot icon in the upper right corner.
- Click Settings.
- Then, go to Advanced.
- Finally, enable the toggle bar for Adobe Flash Player.
How do you enable Flash for specific websites?
- Go to the website where you want to enable Flash.
- Click the puzzle icon that appears on the right side of the address bar.
- Now, click Allow once.
You can now successfully play Flash content on the website. However, you must enable Flash each time you visit the website.
