Pitney Bowes announced that it had fallen victim a hacking attack, resulting in the encryption of data on some systems and the blocking of access customer services.
The company, which provides postal services and related equipment, said that the ransomware attack affected various systems important to the company's operations .
The company is monitoring all of its systems and said that “things can change.” However, for now, shipping machines can print the necessary indications if senders have given the money and devices can print labels with shipping details (name, address, weight of contents, etc.).
According to Pitney Bowes, however, access to information for ordering supplies is still limited.

The company, which focuses on postal shipments, has expanded its activities to e-commerce and software development. Since the ransomware attack was detected, the company's technical team has not stopped working to restore the systems. In addition, it has requested help from third-party companies, experts in the security sector, with whom it is working closely to deal with the incident.
“Upon discovery of the cyberattack, we immediately notified our technical team to address the situation. We continue to work with third-party security experts to resolve the issue,” the company said.
According to Pitney Bowes, there is no evidence that customer accounts or data have been affected. The company is confident that customers are not at any other risk.
"At this time, the company has no evidence that customer or employee data has been compromised," it said
Pitney Bowes is a large company with over 1 million customers. In August, the company signed a very significant deal that secured it $700 million.
