Mozilla has changed the lock icon that Firefox 70 displays on websites using HTTPS. Starting with Firefox 70, the icon in the URL bar will appear in gray instead of the familiar green.
This is an experiment and the change is enabled by default in the Nightly build.
If you want to see the Green lock in the browser's address bar again, you can follow the instructions below.

The Nightly version also changes the way the Firefox browser displays the information of the Extended Validation Certificate (or simply EV Certificate). Starting from version 70, it will display the EV information in a pop-up tab, and not in the URL bar.

We should note that Google also plans to no longer display the EV indicator in the Chrome 77 address bar by default. The indicator will appear in the UI of the information page (about). Chrome has already removed the green lock icon, and now shows, by default, a gray icon on sites that use HTTPS.
To see the green lock again on HTTPS websites in the Firefox address bar:

Open the internal address about:config in Firefox 70 and search for the term gray. In the search results, click on “Toggle” (Toggle) to change the setting.
Restart the browser and you will see the green icon.
