The first pirated DVD screeners have just started to appear on various pirate sites. This year the first to be released was Green Book, which was followed almost immediately by Ralph Breaks the Internet.
The Hive-CM8 team that released them says the challenge is bigger this year, as it lost access to important contacts, according to Torrentfreak.

For those who don't know, towards the end of the year, DVD screeners are sent to various Oscar voters.
It's a moment pirates await, as they hope to get their hands on the year's movies early, which traditionally happens every year.
This year, however, the wait was quite long, but the Hive-CM8 team once again seems to have made Green Book available, while it continues to play in theaters.
“Well, a year has passed and it’s that time of year everyone has been waiting for. SCREENER Time. As usual, we love sharing with friends all over the world,” the team says.

Three years ago, after a massive release of screeners, before their theatrical release, the team also became the target of massive backlash from the entertainment industry. So this year, the team seems to be paying more attention to the schedule. In this case, the film Green Book was chosen because it has already gone well over its budget.
It's unclear how much access Hive-CM8's sources have. The group has apparently lost access to its email and website, meaning it has lost many important contacts.
“Since we lost our website/email and we didn’t have a backup, all our contacts disappeared. So this year things are much more complicated. We want to do it like before, but it will take time.”
The Hive-CM8 team is particularly interested in getting in touch with the “friend on the road.”
Shortly after Green.Book.2018.DVDScr.Xvid.AC3.HQ.Hive-CM8, EVO released a pirated DVD screener of Ralph Breaks the Internet. According to EVO, they acquired the copy two weeks ago and were planning to release it by Christmas, but were delayed due to technical issues.

EVO is obviously keeping its sources anonymous, but it openly thanks “MrSpy” for “risking his balls.”
The group emphasizes that leaking DVD screeners doesn’t hurt Hollywood, but rather gives everyone the opportunity to watch and enjoy movies that might not be available through other means.
"The DVDSCR season is not about leaking and damaging the studios themselves. It's about giving everyone a chance to watch and enjoy some of the movies that aren't even in their local theaters.".
We're sure Hollywood disagrees, but movie studios will have a hard time putting the genie back in the bottle now that Green Book and Ralph Breaks the Internet have been released.
