Google on Wednesday evening pushed the Chrome 63 browser to the stable channel for all supported operating systems, GNU/Linux, macOS and Windows.
Chrome 63 has been in the Beta channel since late October and was preparing some important changes for developers, such as a new Device Memory API, async iterators and generators, dynamic module imports, as well as various UI changes.
This release also brings significant improvements to the Blink engine along with many bug fixes.
The improvements to the Blink engine that come with Chrome 63 fix issues in a wide range of features: DOM, CSS, HTML, MediaStream, JavaScript, connections, fonts, network, storage, and sensor.
The update brings a new chrome://flags page and modifies the permissions drop-down for a better end-user experience.
Chrome 63 also adds support for the “display: minimal-ui” feature, allowing developers to display a UI to users that resembles Chrome’s custom tabs.
With the new version of Chrome 63, 37 security fixes.
