The United States has targeted 8 people as it holds them responsible for operating two large, unauthorized streaming services.
According to the court, the two streaming services, Jetflicks and iStreamItAll (ISIA) have deprived copyright holders of many millions of dollars.
The most worrying thing is that the two services are very popular and have thousands of subscribers. Anyone can access them as long as they have an internet. The services are supported by many systems, such as smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, video game consoles, digital media players, set-top boxes, and web browsers.
According to some reports, the streaming service Jetflicks was streaming TV shows through pirate sitessuch as The Pirate Bay, RARBG and Torrentz, using automated scripts. It then offered the pirated content to subscribers.
ISIA also used the same automated tools as Jetflicks to detect, download, process and store illegal content. Unlike Jetflicks, ISIA also contains films in addition to TV shows.
The Ministry of Justice said that the two services offered their subscribers (in the US and Canada) thousands of TV shows and movies without permission.

“The Jetflicks service claimed that it has over 183,200 different episodes of TV programs”, the Ministry of Justice reported.
“The two services are said to have offered more TV programs and movies than the legal streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Vudu and Amazon Prime Video”.
According to the indictment, Jetflicks is alleged to be run by Kristopher Lee Dallmann, Darryl Julius Polo (or djppimp), Douglas Courson, Felipe Garcia, Jared Edward Jaurequi (or Jared Edwards), Peter H. Huber, Yoany Vaillant (or Yoany Vaillant Fajardo) and Luis Angel Villarino.
ISIA is said to have been created by Polo, who left Jetflicks to create ISIA.
Dallman and Polo are also charged with laundering .
And in other countries, such as Australia, there has been the problem of unauthorized streaming services and many efforts have been made to limit them and to protect copyright.
In Europe, a very strict framework (Copyright Directive) has also been created regarding intellectual property. Anyone copying a text excerpt from published articles must have obtained permission. In addition, companies will take responsibility for the content that users upload to platforms , so as to protect the intellectual property of various musicians, performers, writers, publishers and others.
