Binance, the cryptocurrency exchange company, intends to compensate the white hat hacker who breached its domain name and Twitter account.

In a post published on August 16, Binance Jersey announced that a hacker had gained access to the @BinanceJE Twitter account (the official profile of Binance Jersey) as well as the platform’s domain name on the Internet. The company was able to recover the domain name within minutes, while Twitter took a few hours.
According to the statement, the hacker gained access “through social engineering to the email domain name service provider,” and then posted a few tweets from the company’s official account, later deleting them. It’s worth noting that the hacker was cooperative and open during his communication with the company’s security team, allowing the Twitter account to be quickly recovered. The company notes:
«We were able to recover the domain name within minutes and the Twitter account after a few hours. We plan to reward the hacker, as part of our security bug bounty, as well as further investigate the security incident. We can assure you that all funds on Binance.je are safe and data has not been stolen.”
In one of the tweets from another account, reportedly belonging to the same hacker, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao was asked to personally contact him. Of course, all of the hacker’s tweets were then deleted.

As Cointelegraph recently reported, crypto exchange Binance's market share has increased by around 11%, despite rumors of a possible data leak affecting the exchange's users.
