The well-known cosmetics company Sephora was recently attacked . The company rushed to inform its customers in the Southeast Asia region that it had discovered a breach that took place over the past two weeks.

The update read: “We understand how important your personal information and appreciate the trust you place in us to protect it. Over the past two weeks, we have discovered a data breach involving certain customers who have used our online services in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.”
According to Sephora, certain information may have been exposed to third parties. This information includes name, surname, date of birth, gender, email and password as well as consumer preferences in products, etc.
The positive thing is that no credit card information has been compromised and that customers' personal data has not been used illegally

When the attack was detected, Sephora hired experts to weigh in on the situation by conducting an investigation. When they were able to learn details, they informed customers.
The company has proactively canceled all customer account passwords and re-examined its security systems. They also provide a personal data monitoring service, free of charge, for customers who wish to do so.
It is worth noting that those who prefer to shop in Sephora's physical stores and do not use the online services or app are not affected by the incident. The database that was attacked was only for Sephora stores in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.
