One way is through the use of Chromecast easily and wirelessly, while the other is by directly connecting them with some kind of converter.

Connection via cables
Most modern phones have USB-C ports, but some older phones have microUSB. So, get the type of adapter that suits your case and connect your phone to your TV. Connect via Chromecast

Once you have Chromecast installed, connected it to your phone, open the app and in the bottom right of your screen you will need to tap a button that looks like a face with a circle around it.
Navigate to additional settings and the first option should be Mirror device. If there is a message warning you that device is not optimized, ignore it.
Then press the big blue "Cast Screen/Audio" button which will cause your phone to search for nearby devices, which is not delayed due to the speed of the Chromecast.
