One thing that sets the new Microsoft Edge apart from other Chromium -based browsers is that it has redesigned the “Clear browsing data” feature. Microsoft developers have made sure to make this feature more accessible to users and have improved the user interface so that all data-related options are visible by default.
Chromium browsers include a “Clear browsing data” option that by default clears your browsing history, cookies, and website data, as well as cached images and files. However, if you want to delete other information, such as passwords or website permissions, you’ll need to go to the Advanced.
In Microsoft Edge Nightly, you can enable a new interface for Clear browsing data, which eliminates the need to visit the Advanced tab, as all options are displayed by default. This will make it easier for more casual users to see all available options and select the ones they want to clear.
The new Microsoft Edge also makes the Clear browsing data option more prominent, adding a blue button that is the first thing a user sees when going to the Privacy and services.
How to activate the new interface
To enable the new Clear browsing data interface, you will need to enable an experimental flag in the edge://flags screen.
From edge://flags search for “clear browsing” and you will see a label titled “Microsoft Edge clear browsing data dialog”. To enable the new UI, change this setting from default to enabled and then restart the browser when prompted.
Once Edge is restarted, the new interface will be used for this privacy feature.
