At MWC 2019, LG unveiled its flagship G8 ThinQ, which packs a lot of interesting features and brings upgrades to the hugely popular G7 ThinQ.
Talking about the specifications, the LG G8 features a 6.1-inch QHD+ display with a notch. The smartphone from LG comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 2TB with a memory card.
The G8 also features a triple camera system, with a 16MP camera and two 12MP cameras. On the front, the LG G8 features a depth-sensing camera that the company has dubbed the “Z Sensor.”.
Another interesting feature that LG added is a new “Advanced Palm Vein Authentication” system for unlocking the device.
The smartphone scans veins to unlock the device, which LG says is a much more secure method than a fingerprint scanner.
"All the phone owner has to do to unlock the device is place their hand in front of the camera (located on the front) for one second.".
To counter the competition from foldable devices coming out this year, LG has also released an additional display that can be attached as an accessory to the LG V50 ThinQ, LG's first 5G smartphone, which was released alongside the G8.
LG has not yet revealed the price or availability date of the G8.
