Lately, Google has been focusing on improving Google Maps, with the main goal of making it the most powerful navigation tool. After all, its efforts are visible through each upcoming update. This time, the company is bringing a new feature to Android users, which will help to better organize a trip planned through Google Maps. The new feature concerns the planning of departure and arrival of routes! So far, it is available for version 10.8.0, which is available in beta on the Play Store.

How will the "departure-arrival" feature work and what will it help with?
To use this feature, a user must first tap on the address they wish to reach (at the point in the Google Maps application where the three dots are located and in the upper right). There, the user will be able to see the option “Set depart & arrive time”. After tapping on this option, there will be the option to set the departure time from one location and the arrival time at another location. In both cases, Google Maps will accurately inform the user about the time it will take for the entire route.

It should be noted that there is a difference between these two. For example, if you set the departure time first, Google Maps will show you the estimated time from that departure time. However, if you set the arrival time, Maps will tell you the time you need to leave your starting location to reach your desired destination. Additionally, some reports have stated that the new feature only applies to cars, but according to others, it is also available for two-wheelers.
The truth is that the feature is very useful, but it lacks the important element of notification and reminder! This is negative, as if someone is very busy, they may forget the exact departure time and be late for the planned route they had made on Google Maps.
