Microsoft has already given up on the desktop browser war, but the company has no reason to abandon its mobile efforts, where Microsoft Edge is constantly improving on both Android and iPhone.

The latest preview build of Microsoft Edge for iPhone comes with additions that improve the overall experience of using the app.
So, Microsoft Edge is now at version 42.10 and, as Microsoft explains, this version comes with a new refresh button in the main menu.
If you're wondering why you need a refresh button on the main menu, we're wondering the same thing, especially since reloading pages this way obviously takes longer and isn't the most convenient thing to do on a mobile device.
The new version also includes information about your Microsoft Rewards account in the browser settings screen. Compared to the refresh button, this addition is a bit more useful, as it shows your Microsoft Rewards points directly within the app. However, Microsoft Rewards is a feature that is limited to certain regions, so it doesn't make sense to offer it to all browser users.
Both new features are expected to be available to all Microsoft Edge users on iPhone in the coming weeks when a new stable build is available.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is hard at work finishing up its Chromium-based browser for Windows 10 and other desktop operating systems. Microsoft is expected to release a preview of the revamped Microsoft Edge build in the first few months of 2019, so it won't be long before we can try it out.
As for the stable build being released to the public, it will likely be available sometime in 2019, although Microsoft has so far avoided providing any timeframe as the browser remains under construction.
