The CSI Institute, a non-governmental and non-profit organization, which came to life thanks to Lieutenant General (retd) Emmanouil Sfakianakis, Special Investigator, Cybercrime Analyst, has created the PARENTS ACADEMY, another innovative project aimed at teaching parents how to navigate the internet safely.
Through the Academy, parents will gain knowledge about the current state of the Internet, its positives and negatives, new phenomena, Social Media, as well as the situations that children and adolescents face, through dangerous online behaviors that they may exhibit.
This is an 8-hour program, divided into 4 sections.
- The first section concerns informing parents about the Internet today, exposure, Social Media, online gaming, Chatrooms, Grooming, and other online traps, so that they are able to recognize any risks and be aware of current data.
- The second and third sections approach the issues arising from the internet psychologically. The above-mentioned issues, as well as issues such as Addiction and Cyber Bullying, are analyzed to such an extent that parents can distinguish any symptoms, but also know how to deal with such situations. What is the right and wrong communication. How much is the psychology of children affected by the internet.
- Finally, the fourth section includes detailed practical solutions and precautionary measures that both parents and children can take regarding their safety on the Internet.
