Which Oscars and which Golden Globes? The awards we're really interested in are none other than the Google Play Awards! As every time we approach the end of the year, Google has several ways to honor the best applications it offers. Users are therefore given the opportunity to vote not only for the top applications for themselves but also for top games and beloved movies, via the Play Store! Voting started today and will be open to the public for the next two weeks. According to Google, the winners of each category will be announced on December 3, 2018.
So it's time to get ready, as the nominations for 2018 have already been announced! As usual, there are three different categories:
- Best App
- Best Game
- Best Movie
The shortlist for Best App includes a mix of perennial favorites like Pandora, Wish , and Tinder, as well as some not-so-popular ones you may not have heard of or seen before.
In the Best Games category you will find the well-known and beloved Pokemon Go, Final Fantasy XV and the inevitable PUBG Mobile.
The choices for the next category, namely the best films, include specific films, such as Isle of Dogs by the very special director Wes Anderson, the controversial film Ready Player One and the comic book blockbusters Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.
How will you vote for your favorite?
Open the Play Store on your smartphone and there are detailed instructions on how to vote. Also, this year it is possible to vote within the Google Play app! Let us just clarify that depending on the location and country you are in, the lists and categories differ.
