The information event on the topic: "Privacy of Electronic Communications and Internet Security" was held with great success at the Maroussi Town Hall (Vas. Sofias 9 & Dimitriou Moscha). It was an initiative of the Communications Privacy Authority (ADAE), with the support of the Hellenic Center for Safer Internet.
The event is part of the Authority's actions within the framework of the European Cybersecurity Month, aiming to raise public awareness on issues of protecting the privacy of communications while surfing the internet.
The event was prefaced by the Vice President of ADAE, Mr. Michalis Sakkas. The Mayor of Amaroussi, Mr. Giorgos Patoulis, as well as the Head of the Secure Services Unit of the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA), Mr. Dimosthenis Economou, delivered speeches during the event.
Mr. Panagiotis Rizomyliotis, Regular Member of ADAE, referred to the privacy of Electronic Communications and the role of ADAE in this, while Mr. Giorgos Kormas, representative of the Greek Safer Internet Center, referred to the communication habits of children and adolescents on the internet.
Of course, the highlight of the event was the Greek national team of the European Cybersecurity Competition (ECSC' 2018) , which managed to claim a place in the top five and fill us all with smiles and pride.
Mr. Konstantinos Vavousis, Team Manager of the Greek team, and Ms. Stella Tsitsoula, Communications Manager of the team, emphasized the hard work of the children and the team's coaches, as well as their dedication to the goal.
The competition is an initiative of the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA). The Greek mission was supported this year by the Ministry of Digital Policy, Telecommunications & Information and the General Secretariat for Digital Policy.
The event organizers wished the national team similar success at ECSC 2019 and of course first place is what we all desire!
