TYPI is a new ergonomic keyboard that offers a unique shape compared to typical keyboard designs. Designed to provide a more efficient and comfortable way to type, TYPI launched via Kickstarter this week and is available now, with prices starting at $149. As you can see from the image, the keyboard layout is square rather than the long and narrow rectangular of a traditional keyboard.
The development team explains a little more about the inspiration behind TYPI. “Since 2012, we’ve been creating keyboards that merge gaming with the typing experience. According to statistics, 69.27% of keyboards require the use of the left hand to type, while the mouse is operated with the right. What we need is a keyboard, not a typewriter. TYPI is the perfect keyboard for professional writers, programmers, and all digital professionals – improving efficiency, allowing users to type comfortably and naturally, working perfectly with the mouse, and generally promoting faster and more comfortable typing with less effort.”
