The October 2018 Update comes with a feature that allows users to sync their Windows 10 PCs and Android devices, achieving easier access to content like photos and messages.
The feature is powered by an app called Your Phone Companion, which must be installed on both Android and Windows 10 to provide access to photos and messages directly from the desktop.
Apparently, this new feature and the Your Phone application have had a great impact on users who are excited about the idea.
Microsoft even commented via a post on Twitter how pleased it is with this development:
“The #YourPhone companion app is the number one app on the Google Play Store! We are so happy you liked it! Thank you so much!”
According to official statistics, Your Phone already has over 5 million downloads on the Google Play Store, but the total number could be much higher given that Android users can also install it using the standalone APK file.
The application is set to receive several upgrades in the coming months, and one of the improvements Microsoft is already working on is to offer support for any Android application.
It remains to be seen how successful the Your Phone application will ultimately be..
