EU Code Week: Free programming lessons from Apple

As part of the European Code Week, Apple will organize more than 2,000 free educational lessons in its stores across Europe. Having been a strong supporter of programming, and having carried out major promotional activities in the past to push both adults and children towards programming, it will now provide a fantastic experience for those interested in learning.

The educational courses will be free and available to everyone, and Apple will run at least one per day in each of its stores. According to the company's statement, these courses are designed for people with little or no programming experience, and their goal is to inspire the public. This will be achieved through short practical exercises. The courses will include information on how to get started, app design and coding basics, as well as challenges for children.

Apple offers programming lessons throughout the year, with easy guides that explain step by step what the user should do, using the Swift language, the language created by Apple and becoming increasingly popular.

The EU Code Week, which lasts for more than a week (from October 6 to 21), is an initiative aimed at promoting programming to those who have no prior experience, as well as to those who fear it, believing it to be overly complicated. In 2017, more than 1.2 million people from 50 different countries participated in the program, and this year the number is expected to increase.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, says, “Our company has always believed that programming is the language of the future, so we’ve created tools that make programming easy and fun, even for beginners.” If you’re interested in taking part in one of these training programs, you can see a list of stores here.
