Windows 7 will end support in January 2020, meaning that no new updates will be sent to devices that still run it. But it looks like another Microsoft product will also be coming to an end.
Along with Windows 7, Microsoft is also ending support for the older version of Intune, specifically the one that targets that operating system. The older version of Intune will no longer be supported, and Microsoft itself has announced that it will not provide support for the program on Windows 7 in general.
Microsoft recommends users move to newer platforms that offer an Intune management system with Azure. The giant, of course, suggests installing Windows 10, its most recent release, arguing that the operating system comes pre-installed with all the computer and device management capabilities so no action will be required from you.
It is worth noting that the January 2020 deadline is an important milestone for Microsoft and its users, as an entire userbase will have to be forced to migrate to Windows 10.
The company has already started the "war" against Windows 7 and is now requiring partners to inform customers about the upcoming critical removal.
As an alternative, Windows 10, which receives updates twice a year, according to the current policy, and will benefit from continued support as new versions are released.
