The features Apple is bringing don't seem very useful

Animoji and Memoji are two features that seem really cool the first time you use them, but you forget they're even there the next day. And yet it seems Apple thinks they're incredibly useful, so in upcoming iOS software updates, the company is looking to offer new features that could make them more widely known.

One of the updates could bring device syncing for Memoji across devices. As revealed by 9to5mac, iOS 12.1 comes with code that suggests that at some point in the future, Apple devices may automatically create important Memoji when the same Apple ID is used.

Technically, with this feature, Memoji will be synced across all devices owned by a user, so it can be created on one device but then used on all other devices.

The entire process will be done with iCloud, and in all likelihood, users will have the option to choose whether they want their Memoji to be synced or not.

At this point, Memoji only exists on modern iPhones, but Apple will soon bring it to the iPad when the next generation of the device launches. The Face ID facial recognition system is expanding to the tablet lineup, and a new iPad Pro could debut as early as October with such functionality.

The new iPad will be based on the same approach as the iPhone X, with Face ID and a bezel-less design that allows for more screen real estate. A notch, however, may not be necessary.

Memoji is expected to be one of the features offered on the new iPads, although the syncing feature is likely to arrive at a later date, possibly when iOS 12.1 rolls out to all users. That's expected to happen by the end of the year, and Apple is also expected to release other features on the next-generation devices, including dual-SIM support.
