Android users have discovered a peculiar bug that causes some SMS messages to appear in the Google App via the Search Bar.
The bug was discovered completely randomly by some users. The positive aspect of the hypothesis is that so far it is not considered dangerous as the exposure of SMS is not made to other users, only in the Google App of the user's device.
Essentially, a user discovered that if you enter “the1975..com” (without the quotes), a list of all SMS messages appears within the Google app. Others, again, claim that the same result is achieved by entering “Vizela viagens”.
How is it possible for something like this to happen?
Apparently a code on the website runs in such a way that the Google App displays the messages. A roughly similar result can be achieved if you ask the Google Assistant to display all text messages.
The strangest part of the case is that this particular bug is not new for Android users, as the same discovery was made in the past by users with Android 6.0.
In fact, it turns out that the same code could, theoretically, be executed on iOS, via Google Assistant, with the only difference being that the operating system does not have the functionality to display text messages.
