Microsoft is one of the companies that invests heavily in artificial intelligence and despite concerns that slowly or quickly robots could have a significant impact on the industry, CEO Satya Nadella says there is no reason to believe this will happen.
In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph, Nadella says that robots will not steal people's jobs, despite the fact that they are capable of performing an increasing number of activities, sometimes even more efficiently than humans.
“What I think needs to happen in 2018 is more conversation around ethics, principles that we can use for engineers and companies that build AI, so that the choices we make don’t cause us to create systems with bias… that’s the most important thing we need to work on,” Satya Nadella.
The CEO explained that Microsoft's business model operates exclusively with technologies that are essential for customers, so if there is something that should not be on the market, the company has no choice but to adjust its plans.
Currently, Microsoft is focusing increasingly on enterprises, while investments in the AI field are more than welcome as they automate a broad range of activities.
Microsoft's investments in the AI market will continue and other tech giants are investing billions of dollars in this side of the market proving that despite any concerns, artificial intelligence will continue to evolve in the coming years.
