New research reveals that, of all tech companies, Amazon has the most positive impact on society.
20% of Americans believe that Amazon has the most positive impact on society, while in second place we find Google with 15%.
Apple came in third with 11% and Facebook came in fourth with 10%. Of course, Facebook's high ranking is particularly surprising after the recent Cambridge Analytica fiasco regarding the violation of users' privacy. On the other hand, according to the survey, there are quite a few Americans who believe that Facebook has a negative impact on society.
In fifth place is Microsoft with 7% despite the company's focus on technologies that "encourage users to do more." Specifically, Microsoft prioritized building products that give users the resources to create their own projects.
Microsoft has often been accused of investing too much in enterprise-focused solutions and products while neglecting consumers, but this research shows that public perception of the company hasn't changed much.
When it comes to CEOs, Amazon's Jeff Bezos was once again crowned the winner for having the greatest impact on Americans' lives, with 22%. Google's Sundar Pichai came in second with 18%, followed by Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg with 17%. Apple's Tim Cook and Microsoft's Satya Nadella failed to break into the top three.
