Avast, one of the leading companies in the antivirus software space, launched its own browser, which includes various security tools. Among them, Avast Secure Browser incorporates a VPN service (Avast SecureLine VPN), as well as an ad blocker enabled by default.
The new Avast browser is actually an improved version of the Avast SafeZone browser, which includes a multitude of security tools and personal data protection.
First of all, the new browser comes with built‑in privacy features that will hide your identity, with Avast guaranteeing that no one can track you. “We believe that what you do online is your business. Your posts, emails, searches, browsing history – are yours. With our browser they remain that way”, emphasizes Avast.
There is also an ad blocker that is enabled by default and makes browsing faster, as well as a feature called bank mode that prevents intruders from accessing information you type, such as passwords and credit card numbers.
Avast Secure Browser also includes a free VPN that not only prevents your browsing history from being tracked, but also allows you to access data that is restricted in your country. The VPN works similarly to the Opera and connects you to the desired server very quickly.
Additionally, the browser includes a password manager, an extension to block unwanted add-ons, a privacy protection program for deleting history, stored images, cookies and other browsing data, as well as HTTPS encryption that forces websites to use encryption whenever possible.
Also included is a protection feature that blocks Flash content from running unless you manually enable it. Avast says the browser also has an anti-tracking system, which prevents websites from recognizing you and reading information about your system.
And finally, the browser comes equipped with a video downloader, which has the ability to automatically detect videos on any website, allowing you to download them in a second.
