Huawei splits the US and the UK

Huawei has become a hot topic across the Atlantic due to a different approach by the United Kingdom and the US. Washington has stated that it has serious doubts about Huawei Technologies Co, given that a panel of American experts has declared that there is a potential cyber threat due to its operations and equipment.

But the UK has shown strong interest in investing £4.2bn in Huawei. The announcement came after British Prime Minister Theresa May spoke with Huawei Technologies Co chairman Sun Yafang in Beijingtwo weeks ago, leaving room for a rift between the US and Britain.

Washington continues to be steady in its position, as it talks about an imminent cyber security threat in the operation of the Chinese telecommunications giant, fearing that US networks could be more vulnerable to Beijing's benefit.

The fear and suspicion of the US is not new. Experts feared the invasion of the Chinese threat to security in cyberspace in the US in 2012, when a congressional report essentially saw the possibility of experiments by the Chinese espionage network in the country's telecommunications network, when Huawei was limited only to smaller carrier companies.

American doubt and suspicion have not been able to stop the spread of the Chinese giants' market across the globe, given that Huawei is currently the third largest smartphone in the world.

Huawei is set to capture the global market, as the days when we will reach 5G are not far off.
