Smartphone battery explosions are a topic of conversation every now and then, but this is the first time someone has bitten an iPhone!
As strange as it may sound, this is literally what happened in a Chinese store, where a potential iPhone buyer decided to check if the device was real just like he would test a gold coin: by biting into it.
The CCTV footage shows the man checking an iPhone before bringing it close to his mouth, apparently to take a closer look to see if it is a clone or not. After just a few seconds, the man is seen biting the device, while everyone walks away, including the woman standing next to the sales counter.
While it's hard to say exactly how an iPhone or any other smartphone, regardless of brand or model, could suffer such a massive explosion if the battery isn't exposed, GizmoChina says no one was injured in the incident. That's especially strange given the impact and how close the device was to the person's face.
As for some parts of the video, it goes without saying that no one can say for sure that the man is not involved in some kind of prank or simply wants to gain impressions with a fake video.
No matter the explanation, it goes without saying that biting a phone or a battery is not a good idea, because you know that electricity might not be your tongue's best friend.
You can watch the full event in the video below, but considering all of the above, we advised you not to believe it too much because the information seems a bit exaggerated.
