Good news for Xiaomi fans, as the Chinese company that produces affordable yet powerful smartphones, today officially launched the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus.
new smartphones feature a similar design and several common specifications, with the main differences being found in the devices' processors, as well as the screen size. The Redmi 5 Plus features a 5.99-inch display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, while the Redmi 5 has a 5.7-inch display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450.
Both devices feature bezel-less displays with an 18:9 aspect ratio, giving an impressive widescreen effect, which Xiaomi says is ideal for gaming and media playback. The devices also feature a dedicated flash on the front camera for improved photos/selfies in low-light environments.
The Redmi 5 series smartphones have started to be available on the Chinese market at very affordable prices (starting at $120), while there is currently no information on when they will be available in other countries.
