Samsung recently released the Galaxy Book, which is its attempt to enter the Windows 10 device market. Along with this launch, the company also introduced Samsung Flow, a new app that allows for easy connection of a laptop with a Galaxy phone.
Although the app is currently only compatible with Samsung Windows 10 devices, the company plans to release it for all Windows 10 PCs, allowing Galaxy users to easily unlock their devices.
The Samsung Flow app needs to be running on both your smartphone and Windows 10 PC to run properly. It currently supports several devices including the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, S6 and S6 Edge, Note 5 and A5.
With Samsung Flow, users can authenticate themselves on computers with their smartphones' fingerprint sensors while also benefiting from other features, such as notification synchronization.
Of course, notification synchronization on Android devices was already available on Windows 10 with the help of Cortana, Microsoft's digital assistant, which must be set up and working on the computer and Android smartphone with the same account.
"Samsung Flow is a software product that enables a seamless, secure and connected experience across all your devices. You can authenticate your tablet/PC with your smartphone. You can also turn on your mobile hotspot and keep your tablet connected," the app description says.
The Samsung Flow app is already available in the Windows Store and can only be downloaded on Samsung Windows 10 devices.
