The electronic system for conducting tenders for supplies at the Chania Hospital was found blocked on Monday morning, likely by the ransomware virus called WannaCry, which was unleashed by hackers on Friday and "infected" hundreds of thousands of computers around the world.
Some files that were in shared folders were lost from the "attack". Efforts to recover the data were immediately launched in collaboration with the 7th Regional Directorate of Crete.
