TCL Communications announced the BlackBerry KEYone during this year's biggest tech event, Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and today the company officially launched the smartphone in Europe. The BlackBerry KEYone is now available to buy at Selfridges in London, priced at £499.
Selfridges isn't the only place where British consumers can get their hands on the new BlackBerry smartphone, the device is also available from Vodafone UK, while Carphone Warehouse stores across the country will stock the phone from May 5.
Local retailer Clove has listed the KEYone on its website, but the first stock is expected to arrive the week of May 22. Following today's UK launch, the BlackBerry KEYone will definitely be available in other European countries, the Middle East and Africa. The KEYone will arrive in the US and Canada on May 31.
The BlackBerry KEYone features a physical QWERTY, reminiscent of previous BlackBerry flagships. Users have the option to assign different actions to each key, to easily open a specific app or activate data from their phones.
Furthermore, the phone packs powerful specs behind its 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1620 x 1080 pixels. The display is impact-resistant and the phone's design features a soft-grip design. It runs on Qualcomm clocked at 2.0GHz, coupled with the Adreno 506 GPU.
The RAM capacity inside the latest BlackBerry smartphone reaches 3GB, while the internal storage is 32GB expandable to 2TB using a microSD. The KEYone comes with a 12MP Sony IMX378 sensor on the back and is capable of recording 4k video.
The front camera capacity is 8MP and the smartphone draws power from a 3,505mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. It runs Android 7.1 Nougat and comes with BlackBerry Hub pre-installed. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the space bar on the keyboard.
