HMD Global has announced that the new Nokia phones will hit shelves in the second quarter of this year. Indeed, as the devices appear to be launching next week in Europe, the modern Nokia 3310 will initially be released on April 28 in Germany and Austria.
The modern version of the Nokia 3310 is already listed by many retailers in Austria for €59 and will go on sale next Friday, April 28. Some retailers are offering the phone at the slightly lower price of €53.
However, the price is still higher than HMD Global's suggested retail price, which announced that a modern version of the Nokia 3310 will sell for €49. In Germany, the device will be available for €58 and many retailers will have the phone ready by April 28.
However, only the 2G model is currently available. Different tax rates in European countries could explain the higher price compared to HMD Global's recommended price.
The new Nokia 3310 will cost no more than 60 euros and will be released on April 28 in various European countries. HMD Global said that it plans to simultaneously release the new Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 3310 in 120 markets around the world, so the April 28 date could be the catalyst. Of course, there may be a delay of a few days depending on the market.
The modern Nokia 3310 stole the show during its MWC presentation, with its slightly changed design and long battery life that makes the device suitable for a second phone.
The phone is slightly lighter and thinner than its predecessor and features a 2.4-inch QVGA display with 16MB of internal memory. It also features a 2MP camera with LED flash and a 1200mAh battery.
