Lemonade on another level! Scientists in Singapore have managed to play with time and space – or at least the art of teleportation via a Bluetooth connection, to teleport…lemonade.
Researchers from the CUTE Center lab, which operates in collaboration with the University of Singapore and Keio University in Japan, have created a series of devices that can transmit the taste of lemonade from the phone.
To send a “lemonade” to your recipient, you would stick a sensor into a glass containing the soda. The sensor records the color value and pH of the soda. So when you send it to your friend, a special device on the other end of the line changes the water with electrical stimulations, to make it look like lemonade.
Of course, it's not real lemonade, which means the device won't become a lemon juicer. The converter changes the taste of the water, giving it a sour taste.
Or, to put it more precisely, using pH data and color, it plays with the way the recipient's brain perceives the lemonade.
According to theCUTE Center lab Facebook, water can become salty, sour, or bitter without actually changing its ingredients.
