According to tests conducted by DxOMark (a trusted industry benchmark for measuring and rating the quality of camera and lens images), the Huawei P10 ranks the phone among the top smartphones on the market this year.
The main camera of Google's Pixel smartphone tops the list, followed by the HTC 10, Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and Sony Xperia X Performance. Huawei's P10 scores 87 points in the rating, just two points behind the Pixel.
According to the research, the P10 delivers similar performance to the Moto Z Force Droid, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia Z5. The P10’s 12MP + 20MP Leica lenses provide good aperture in all conditions including low light as well as excellent color rendition with accurate white balance. The dual camera setup delivers good detail and texture retention, producing sharp images. The autofocus is fast and accurate when using the automatic mode.
In terms of video, the P10 offers 1080p recording at 60fps along with a higher resolution of 2160p at 30fps for capturing moving images. Additionally, videos feature a good aperture with accurate dynamic range and white balance in all conditions.
