Oppo has unveiled its new 5x optical zoom camera technology that delivers sharp images without compromising on quality when zooming in. The new camera will come with upcoming Oppo flagships. ZTE has unveiled a Gigabit single phone with download speeds of up to 1Gbps, and Meizu has announced its new Super mCharge that can fully charge smartphones in just 20 minutes.
But another Chinese company has captured the attention of attendees at MWC 2017 in Barcelona with its new product. The in-display fingerprint sensor can turn any part of the screen into a fingerprint sensor.
This technology eliminates the need to place the fingerprint scanner on the home button or on the back. As a result, companies can develop phones with smaller bezels and a higher screen-to-body ratio. In addition, the new phones could be thinner since the fingerprint sensor can be placed on the screen.
The company said the new technology can be incorporated into AMOLED displays, even curved ones. We've seen these new technology patents filed by Apple and a number of other companies are actively working on the new technology, but Goodix is among the first to demonstrate the results.
Goodix has provided its fingerprint recognition technology to many mobile phone manufacturers, including Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, LG, Nokia and ASUS.
