Pixlplay is a new device that turns your smartphone into a special camera designed for children.

If you are a camera enthusiast and have young children who you want to immerse them in the magical world of photography, then you will love the following product. It is Pixlplay, a special smartphone case inspired by the appearance of a classic 35mm camera. Inside it you can place any Apple or Android mobile phone using the adjustable clamp. Then download and install the Pixlplay application on your mobile, and children will have a classic camera for almost no cost and in a simple way to experiment and have fun.
In particular, if you have an old unused smartphone lying around in your drawer, you can give it new life as a high-tech toy for kids. It is of course quite clear that the case protects your phone from the abuse it will receive from children anyway.
The case will come in two different colors and will feature an ergonomic rubber grip and wrist strap, all specifically designed to hold the camera in a toddler's tiny hands. There's also a built-in screen protector that keeps water and dirt away from your phone's camera, as well as a shutter button that works through the phone's headphone jack (iPhone 7 users probably got lucky here).
On the top of the case there is an optical viewfinder, and on the front surface you will also find a lens (which rotates making continuous clicking sounds) as well as a button that looks like the one that arms the camera by winding the film.
The dedicated Pixlplay iOS app will provide kids with ways to create, explore, and play with their images. The product is fromPixl Toys and is currently in the pre-order and funding phase on Kickstarter.
If the goals are met and the project is successful, backers will receive Pixlplay for $25. The estimated shipping date is June 2017.
