WhatsApp: Adds Offline Messages to Queue Mode for iOS

WhatsApp has brought some improvements to its iOS app, adding a new feature to save offline messages and send them when an Internet connection is available. In addition, some parts of the app have received a redesign.

WhatsApp's new feature allows users to compose their messages and hit Send, even if they don't have an active internet connection. The message is saved in the app and will automatically send when WiFi is available or users turn on their mobile data.

Needless to say, the feature is very useful when users want to type a reply to a specific message and don't want to do so when the Internet is available. The new feature allows users to type multiple messages in the offline queue and send them automatically when the connection is restored.

WhatsApp also welcomed a new design for its storage usage screen on the iOS app. Users will now be able to manage their device storage by simply deleting certain types of messages from specific conversations.

This is handy in video-heavy chats, as media content can be set to clear the way for new messages. The feature can be accessed by going to Settings, Data and Storage Usage, and accessing the Storage Usage section.

WhatsApp also allows users to send up to 30 photos or videos at once, thus increasing the media sharing limit. Earlier this month, WhatsApp 2.17.6 beta for Android included the same feature that allows users to share up to 30 videos and photos with their friends.

Previously, users could only share 10 media files. The beta update for Android also brought a tool to search for GIF images on Giphy and Tenor, add a caption, and then simply tap “Send” to share it with your friends. WhatsApp is also expected to roll out a new feature to iOS and Android users for editing and recalling messages.
