HTC recently announced that it is stopping the installation of Android 7.0 Nougat software on HTC 10 smartphones due to some bugs that were encountered. This installation began in November 2016 on some users' devices, but it seems that the experiment failed .
Much to our surprise, however, a new report on Twitter claims that HTC is planning to install Android 7.0 Nougat on the HTC 10 series that is being released in Europe. This means that all smartphones sold in the European continent will run on Android 7.0 Nougat along with a security patch built in. The best part is that the updates will reach users within the next three weeks.
The updates would have been made much earlier but were abruptly interrupted due to errors that appear to have derailed the company's plans.
The latest report reveals that in addition to HTC 10s in Europe, users in different countries will also receive the update, and it is even likely to happen at the same time.
What new will the new update offer?
What is certain is that 7.0 Nougat will bring many new features to the HTC 10. Initially, we will have improved battery life, multi-window mode, and a revamped notification area with quick replies from the pulldown bar.
Let's not forget that last December the company also confirmed the release of the updated version of the HTC One M9 model and its installation began immediately.
While the U Ultra and U Play both came with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, last year's flagship ran on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The latter model features a 12MP UltraPixel rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. It sports a 5.2-inch Super LCS display with support for Quad HD, 4GB of RAM with a quad-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The phone is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and comes with 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.
