Adobe released new security patches for a total of nine of its products yesterday. Of course, Adobe Flash Player could not be missing from them, followed by ColdFusion Builder, InDesign, etc.
One of the most critical patches is security update APSB16-39, which is available for Adobe Flash Player. The update addresses 16 security flaws in Flash, one of which could allow remote code execution if successfully exploited.
Adobe has confirmed that it has already seen attacks that attempt to exploit this vulnerability. It goes without saying that Flash Player users should prioritize installing this patch as soon as possible. The updated version of Flash Player is 24.0.0.186.
For Adobe Flash Player Desktop Runtime, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Internet Explorer 11, the update severity is rated “1” (the highest priority rating available for Adobe patches), while Adobe Flash Player for Linux is rated “3.”
In the case of users running Internet Explorer and Edge, the Flash Player update will be sent via Windows Update, as the application is built into the browser.
